Lives and works in Ljubljana (SI)

Andrej Škufca studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, Netherlands, and graduated in 2014 from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. His body of work unfolds as a complex network characterized by elements of fiction, technological design, industrial fabrication processes, and the use of synthetic materials. His installations not only blend technological and fictional components but also create immersive and seemingly animated environments, where human agents are no longer at the forefront.

Škufca has showcased his solo exhibitions at esteemed venues such as Aksioma Project Space in Ljubljana, Slovenia; Močvara in Zagreb, Croatia; The International Center of Graphic Arts MGLC in Ljubljana, Slovenia; Miroslav Kraljević Gallery in Zagreb, Croatia; Karlin Studios, FUTURA in Prague, Czech Republic; and DUM Project Space in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Additionally, he has been part of group exhibitions at renowned institutions including MAXXI, the National Museum of XXI Century Arts in Rome, Italy; Ludwig Muzeum in Budapest, Hungary; Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova in Ljubljana, Slovenia; Het Niewe Institut in Rotterdam, Netherlands; Nitja in Oslo, Norway; and the Gallery of Modern Art in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

His works have found a place in public collections at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Montenegro, the National Gallery in Prague, Czech Republic, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Škufca serves as an editor at Šum journal.
